The Alberta Library is governed by a
Board of Directors comprised of its 43 members.
Fulfills the
function of The Alberta Library Board overseeing general operations
between Board meetings.
Develops a strategic plan for The Alberta Library
Advocates on behalf of TAL - ensures
that TAL's mission is understood and fullfilled.
Provides advice and direction on the development of the
AAQ service.
Ensures that TAL's finances are managed
in an efficient and accurate manner.
Ensures that structure and governence
are in place and that policy is consistent.
Provides leadership and direction for TAL's licensing program, with specific emphasis on the
Subscriptions
Alberta initiative.
Brings forward the names of Board members
willing to stand for the Executive Committee. Conducts the election
of the Executive Committee at the AGM.
Seeks to enhance coordination of post-secondary library services on a province-wide scale.
Provides leadership and direction on the development of
TAL
Online.
Provides leadership and direction for
APLEN programs and services.
Seeks to enhance strategic coordination of library marketing efforts on a province-wide scale.
