The Alberta Library (TAL) supports academic, public, and special libraries across Alberta in a variety of ways. We provide group licensing to facilitate access to high quality digital resources for all member libraries, we promote resource sharing between members via the TAL card which allows patrons to borrow books from any member, we manage the digital aspects (video conferencing, schedule management) of events for members and non-members, and we provide administration services for library associations financially and digitally.
job summary
You will work with the licensing librarians to complete various licensing tasks using an existing file system and task list. This will include working with TAL’s license management system, Consortia Manager. You will create and manage custom metadata within Consortia Manager. You will assist in creating and adapting license agreements for various types of electronic content and services, consulting with librarians when needed. You and the Supervisor will communicate throughout the project regarding any issues regarding the project, ideas about better processes, or clarification on current workflows.

- Apply and manage content labels in Consortia Manager
- Set task priorities and track progress with assistance from Licensing Librarians
- Create and adapt license agreements with direction from Licensing Librarians
- Other licensing and administrative tasks as time allows
- Report to supervisor with progress or issues

- Specific and in-depth experience with spreadsheets
- Basic knowledge of contract terminology
- Knowledge of library licensing or electronic resources
